This 1800's Cape was moved from the valley in the1930's wnen the Quabbin Reservoir was constructed. An addition came after that. Here you have some older charm, and more modern improvements. It has orchards, a Cidery, The CountryStore and Post Office, and much conservation land, especially with the Quabbin Reservoir! Hiking, bicycling, and especially fishing are part of what makes this town desirable! The highly regarded Swift River School is PreK through 6th grade, followed by Mahar Regional Jr.-Sr. High School, or a nearby trade school. New Salem is a quiet, country place to live!
